Dear Y's Men, Y's Menettes and Y's Lings,--

-II I am grateful to all the Y's Men's Clubs for their active participation in Y's activities of our Region. All of you have done very well and we are now on the finshing point. Only one month left for election and 50 days for our regional Convention. The past few months were eventful with lot of achievements in the field of community services-Cancer Care and Eye Care, strengthening of Y's activities, image building, conducting of youth camps, regional cultural meet, regional sports meet and other activities.

The district Governors have done their part meticulously encouraging club officers for membership increase and extension. The Lt. Regional Directors have taken all the pain to conduct the leadership orientation training programs effectively. Without the sincere and able support from all the club officials, the Region could not have registered the land marked achievements. For the 1st time in the history of SWIR, the Region have made full payment of the reported membership, the highest reported so far in the 1st semester of any Y'sdom year. The Region had extended 54 new clubs, 8 Member Honor Roll and 80 PWAFs.
I thank the youthful Menettes and Y'sLings and the smart youth members and the seniors. I also thank my patrons and advisors for their valuable and timely support and guidance. I am happy to inform you that our Region had achieved the proportionate target. Kindly cooperate for the achievement of all our targets.

To err is human. Many short falls were committed. I hope that you will condone the same. I wish all the members a very happy, prosperous and memorable Y'sdom year 2009.

1. IMPORTANT FORTHCOMING EVENTS

a. Regional Election for RD (elect), LRD(elect) and RSDs will be held on 31st May 2009 at Ramavarma Club, Thevally, Kollam from 10.00 am onwards. Ym. Dr. K.G Varghese Past RD will be the returning officer. Election will start from 10.00 am.

b. Fifth Regional Council will be held from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

c. List of good standing clubs will be published on 11th May, so all the clubs are requested to remit their dues before 10th May 2009.

d. All clubs are requested to send their voting delegate list with their signature and substitution so as to reach the Regional Director before 20th May with delegate fee of Rs. 750/- per delegate.

e. Regional Convention: South West India Regional convention for the year 2009 will be held on 21th June at Hotel Jaladarshini, Thevally, Kollam. Details of the convention will be published later.
